Hi Mo,

Open calling at Cape works a lot like open mic for musicians (or poets).  There's a sign up sheet. Callers pick a time slot and write in their name.  When the time comes, they call a dance.

You lose the well crafted programming that you can get when one caller does the whole evening or the whole event, but you get a lot of fun dances and occasional awkwardness which everybody laughs about because we're all friends and hey--it's contra!
