Peggy - great question. It will be fascinating to watch the different answers. In Atlanta, the contra dance board (Steering Committee) has nine members, each serving a three year term. The terms are staggered, so that three rotate off each year. At the start of each term we elect new officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer). In practice the Treasurer remains the same for 3 years, due to all the trouble to change over bank accounts and such.
