The quilts certainly add some color!
From an acoustics standpoint:
Optimally, fabrics are heavily pleated - for instance a 6' quilt on a
3' rod.
Also, installing them a few inches off the wall increases their absorption.
Note that I have seen a Fire Marshall order the removal of fabrics that
don't have a tag saying 'Does not support flamespread' .
