One incentive to arrive on time for a lesson/workshop (and drive
invitations) is to offer a nominal discount to experienced dancers who
bring a new dancer before 7:00 pm (or whatever the workshop time is).
This has the added benefit of incentivizing experienced dancers to join in
the workshop. Some may even learn things, but at a minimum they're a
friendly face and experienced partner for somebody.
Personal invites are the most effective, as long as the expectations are
set correctly. Not everyone will accept an invitation, and not everyone
will fine it their cup of tea. In aggregate, if 10-15% of new dancers
"stick," that's doing well.
