SURVEY: Looking for YOUR ideas for Puttin’ on the Dance 3!

Dear fellow dance organizers, We’re very excited to be gathering with many of you this spring at Puttin’ On The Dance 3 - Dancing Forward Together! Announcing Contra Connections: A Free Intermediate Contra Dance Workshop Curriculum

Hi Y'all, We wanted to share with you all what we think is a fantastic new resource: Contra Connections: A Free Intermediate Contra Dance Workshop Curriculum. Our great friend and caller Alyssa Adkins wrote the curriculum for us last year, and gave the workshop to great reviews. We think its a great resource, and also has some interesting content in the intro sections (and the section on culture shaping) that may make for some good conversations here. Dance organizer discussion happening at the Flurry - your ideas???! :)

Hi fellow dance organizers :) Just a heads up that the annual organizers discussion at the Dance Flurry is happening again this year! My thought is to do similar to last year and have folks share as many best practices/great ideas as possible from their home communities so we can all learn about neat ideas that we can take home with us. Dance weekend brochures - to mail or not mail

We are debating the impact (and org expense) of mailing brochures to weekend past and present weekend event participants or interested parties. Our team is split in their opinions and so wanted to reach out for thoughts and experiences. The brochure will be available to view and download from website. W-9s/1099’s for weekend talent process

Hi all, I’m a new treasurer for an organization that is preparing to hold it’s first weekend since before the pandemic. We are a registered 501c3 non-profit operating at less than 50K per year. We will be paying our talent more than the threshold for filing 1099’s ($600+), thus it is my understanding that we’ll need to get our talent to fill out W9s and send them 1099s for their 2024 taxes. Past treasurers do not recall filing 1099s for weekend talent in the past, however rates have gone up and the threshold for filing has gone down. Can an presently active/experienced treasurer confirm or correct my understanding of this situation and give any insight to the process, please?
