SURVEY: Looking for YOUR ideas for Puttin’ on the Dance 3!

Dear fellow dance organizers, We’re very excited to be gathering with many of you this spring at Puttin’ On The Dance 3 - Dancing Forward Together! We want your input to help develop the conference program. Can you share your thoughts by completing this short survey by March 12th <https://forms.gle/Zy7ce7Aij2dhBte38>? Reminder that conference registration opens March 1st at www.puttinonthedance.org! We have some great news. We’ve heard from five organizations that have pledged funds to support the conference and reduce the cost for participants. We’re grateful to Country Dance & Song Society (CDSS), New England Folk Festival Association (NEFFA), DownEast Friends of the Folk Arts (DEFFA), Montpelier Contra Dance, and Belfast Flying Shoes for stepping up early with sponsorship grants. Plus, some organizations are offering partial scholarships. Announcing Contra Connections: A Free Intermediate Contra Dance Workshop Curriculum

Hi Y'all, We wanted to share with you all what we think is a fantastic new resource: Contra Connections: A Free Intermediate Contra Dance Workshop Curriculum. Our great friend and caller Alyssa Adkins wrote the curriculum for us last year, and gave the workshop to great reviews. We're really excited to make it available for free at www.view from the balcony.org <https://brooklyncontra.substack.com/p/announcing-contra-connections-an>. We think its a great resource, and also has some interesting content in the intro sections (and the section on culture shaping) that may make for some good conversations here. Hope folks enjoy, and feel free to reach out to us with any questions, and to Alyssa to get her to come teach it (or teach it yourself of course, its designed for local dances to be able to pick and choose pieces from it, and teach themselves)! Announcing View from the Balcony: A New SubStack about Contra Dance Organizing From Brooklyn Contra

Hi Y'all, Just wanted to reach out and let folks know that Brooklyn Contra has launched a brand new SubStack to post some of our thinking about dance organizing and resources we're creating for ourselves and others! We'd love for folks to subscribe if they want, but also, we're planning on posting each individual post here for people to respond to, rather than have a big comments section on the SubStack, and we'll be doing the same thing on the Organizers of Contra Facebook Group.
