Great list Seth!
Emily, come to our contra concert party on Sun 10/25 at 7pm ET.
I gathered things I like from many dances.
I love Seth’s games and breakout topics. Toronto was playing music before and I wanted our bands to get to play more so I added a 30 min concert before dancing, which is open to a variety of online-friendly dances from country line dance with contra tunes, to bouree turned to face the camera, to dances written for online.
Then I am doing polls, trivia and interviews similar to London Barn Dance. Reviews last time were great and I hope more of our locals will come too.

Hi fellow organizers,
Here in Ottawa, we haven't yet held an online gathering for our dancers.
We had a few distanced visits when the weather was warm and we've also had
some open band practices. However, it would be really nice to have a way
for our dancers to socialize over the winter.
Other than dancing, do you have suggestions for how to create a fun social
event online?
I'm looking for ways to engage a larger group of participants as well as
activities for break out rooms. Are there any fun and easy games for large
groups? Conversation starters?
Thanks for any tips!

Hi fellow organizers,
CDSS is hosting a web chat focused on a strong return to dancing.
The session should be quite interesting with the opportunity for
conversation among participants. I look forward to talking with some of
you in the breakout rooms. See below!

Let’s Talk About Reentry:
Working Together Now for a Strong Return to Dancing
An online discussion for contra, English country, and community dance
organizers
Wednesday, Oct. 21 7:00-8:30 p.m. EDT
So much of what we love is on hold or shifting to online formats. But there
will be a time when we dance together again. And there is work we can be
doing during this down time to ensure a joyful and fulfilling return to the
dance floor! In this second installment of the Let’s Talk About Reentry series,
we’ll talk about our evolving expectations for reentry, the changes we need
to prepare for, and the important role organizers can play in preparing our
communities for a bright future.
Please note: Based on feedback, we’ll be changing our usual format a bit
for this Web Chat. Instead of lining up guest speakers, we’ll have a
kick-off message from Katy, followed by longer chat room sessions that will
include conversation prompts and time for interactive follow-up and
discussion.

Soon after you register, Zoom will send you a confirmation email with your

track of it, we recommend saving the email and/or creating a calendar event.
