There are a number of applications and websites to use ABC music notation.
Some people use a combination that may require command lines and other advance computer knowledge.
Some 'techies' write their own programs.
I'm a self-taught computer user and prefer a free 'one stop shopping' application, and for me (and many others) that is EasyABC.
I mostly prepare sheet music for myself and several groups I play with.
I use the References (below, usually in that order) and other tunes' ABCs for examples.
5) is an old, but good quick introduction for new ABC music notation users.
