Finishing Touches by Ridge Kennedy
In Ridge’s dance, the A1 is N do si do and swing.

Thanks, Michael and Linda! I'll write it down as a variation of "Finishing
Touches" by Ridge Kennedy. I like the original A1 with a do-si-do too.

That appears to be "Finishing Touches" by Ridge Kennedy.
I don't have a reference for it though.

Bree, I'll definitely put your dance on my list to call soon.
We could kick around choreographic ideas for a good long time. Here's what I came up with after seeing yours:
Becket, left prog.
A1. Circle left 3/4 pass through, do si do
A2 Gypsy and swing this new N
B1 Chain left diag.............
B2 ladies cross the set passing right shoulders (in current set of 4) and swing partner.
It's not a great dance for experienced men. They never leave their side of the set except for the circle.

One caution on diagonal chains, especially over and back, is that
you may need to remind the gents to hold their places and make the
ladies come to them. I've noticed that on a few dances with diagonal
chains the gents tend to move toward the lady who is coming towards
them. This moves them out of their place across from their neighbor
gent. With two chains in a row this effect is increased. The result is
that they move a little up or down the set and are no longer across from
the couple they started out across from. That means when the next
figure comes to do something with the couple across some of the couples
are now across from a different couple. This can cause a lot of
confusion and/or the set to break down. As I say I have noticed this on
a couple of different dances. I'm not saying it will necessarily be a
problem with this dance, but you should be aware of the possibility.

group that isn't familiar with them. I don’t usually write dances without a
N swing, but my attempts to include one haven’t gone well. Suggestions
welcome.
