anyone knows the name and author of this dance.

Hey Jeff,
There seems to be something off about your notation. Doesn't a
Petronella balance and spin take 8 beats? I think that the N4 Al. R goes
across the phrase.
Also, the A2 should read:
(2) Neighbor #3 pull-by left
(12) Neighbor #2 swing
Bob is on this list and can confirm if it's his dance, too.

Yes, this is mine and it is called Vote With Your Feet. It's a timely question, as
I've noticed several YouTube videos of it this year (thanks to Chris Page for pointing

I use 4 beats for the Petronella, and if dancers don't do the claps, it will lead to
the N4 allemande R being done across the phrase at A1/A2 and a N2 swing more like 10-12
beats.
The version below is the original version, written on 5/1/03. When I wrote it, I realized
the A1/A2 was unusual and deliberately choose a very simple B1, as it is good to play it
safe when breaking in new ideas. It's this version that was distributed early on and
still gets used. Since then, I've recognized that this dance is reserved for
experienced audiences and that the original B1 is too easy for them. So I know use:
B1. 8,8 Gents allemande L 1 1/2, 1/2 hey (PR, LL, N2R, GL)B2. 4,12 Partner balance,
swing
I learned a lot writing this one, and it remains among my best efforts.

A Pass Thru never includes a courtesy turn. If it did then that would then be a Right and
Left thru (without hands, NE style). Pass thru, then turn alone. If you do the dance as
descibed it will play out just fine. It is a circle left the whole way, and direction of
travel is reversed. Hence, I believe it is a reverse becket dance (but I dont have
Gene's books to check).

It's in G&T. Maybe a clue there. It doesn't seem to work for me when I
envision it without the CT. I'm Probably missing something but it seems
like if you don't do a CT before the circle L all the way around, you are
heading away from your partner.

Hi,
When I check the dance out, the progression is to the left (clockwise).
Someone help me with the terminology, I thought this was the usual way
for a Becket to progress, or can it be either way?
Also the following dance by Gene Hubert has the same B part.
Boomerang Becket (L/CW)
A1: LLFB, Right and Left Thru
A2: Ladies Chain, Across Left Diagonal Ladies Chain,

PS Any ideas of the reason for the name - Maybe the B part
is the boomerang where you get your partners back?
