There's a dance instructor here who's planning to start a weekly
Argentine Tango class. Any advice about insurance? The studio he wants
to rent from requires him to have his own liability insurance.

Our dance group gets it through CDSS affiliiation. Maybe there's a
similar association for tango?

Actually - CDSS provides us the ability to purchase 2 different types of liability
insurance
One is caller's insurance - that is not what you are looking for - it is protection
for the caller personally - not for the hall or group
The other is group liability insurance - it protects our group and can have halls included
for a small added fee - that is what you want. CDSS gets us a really good deal - but is
not available to outside groups. You can probably talk to any insurance agent about
general liability insurance. Check around - prices really vary

CDSS sells caller's insurance, and it is very affordable. He would
have to join CDSS; also cheap.....info is on the web site.

There was a discussion about insurance on the Trad_Dance_callers group a while back. I
went back through those archives and found the info I was looking for.
The National Folk Organization has a $50 per year membership fee for individuals or
groups. It includes an option to apply for free insurance. It's a better deal than
CDSS. More comprehensive. A couple of our local dance organizations looked into it and
have switched.
