Moondance (this coming weekend) was just cancelled.  They posted the message below on Facebook.

Please be patient for news.  Even dancers who have power may not be able to get internet nor to learn what's going on in the dance venues for some time.  Many have much bigger concerns than dancing right now.  Homes and lives were lost.  No doubt there will be calls for donations to repair beloved structures and support our community members in need.

Dear Moondancers,
It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel Moondance this year due to the effects of Tropical Storm Helene on this region. We are still dealing with power and internet outages, stranded talent, vendor loss of power, flooded roads, committee members who have lost a house, etc.
Table Rock State Park provided us this update on Sunday morning: The power grid in the highway 11 area has been destroyed. Blue Ridge Electric has told us they have identified 200 power poles in our area that will have to be replaced and their engineers expect that number to rise. They are telling us right now that it could be another 7-10 days. Without power we do not have water or bathrooms. Have to have power for our lift stations and well pump. We did a preliminary survey of Carrick Creek trail and we have 40 trees down just on that trail. We have already cut about 40 off the roads. This storm has been devastating and we fared much better than some of our fellow parks.
All ticket holders will receive full refunds through Eventbrite as soon as we are back online, hopefully within the next one to two weeks. We ask for your patience as we don't know when power and internet will be fully restored.
If you have a campsite reservation, please call 866-345-7275 to receive a full refund. You will need to provide your reservation number.
If you have questions, please email Moondancesc@gmail.com.
We hope that all of you in the affected areas are safe and wish you all the best as you recover from this disaster. Our hearts are with you. For those who would like to help those in need, here is a link to an article that lists disaster relief organizations to whom you can donate.
Please mark your calendars for October 3-5, 2025 - we'd love to see you all next year at Moondance!
Take care and dance on,
Moondance Committee Co-Chairs
Jenn Davis Theresa Pizzuto Tamara McGovern Duncan Cottrell

I've seen Facebook posts from several dancers reporting on the damage in their own houses/neighborhoods. Not sure about venues, whether they've even evaluated them.

A cousin of mine in Asheville lost a coworker, in addition to flood damage to house, so they're understandably upset.

Many people in our folk arts community live in North Carolina, Florida and Georgia.  The news photos from Asheville are worrisome.  Does anyone have publishable news?
