A better assessment is that a vocal and, in the opinion of many, insensitive minority disagree.

Shadow swings are insurmountably problemsome, because they can force one to repeatedly swing with somewhat they either (1) find physically or emotionally threatening, or, (2) because of size or style physically uncomfortable to swing with. The absurdity of Maia's request to avoid discussion of the shadow swings' appropriateness equals the absurdity of asking when groping might be appropriate.
