Hi Dave,

              No, I didn’t mean to be that specific.  8s and 16s are fine - it’s the 12/24 that messes it up. (Sorry, I’m a dancer, not a musician, so I think in beats since I don’t really know what a bar is!)  (OK, I do really - I play concertina by ear for the Morris, but have no musical training so bars tend to confuse me.)

 

              I now have “Waverley Station - The Phoenix; Traveling West; Spirit of the House” which is fine.  Other recommendations are still welcome :-)

As far as Scottish goes, I sent John a recording of a set David Knight put together for Foggy River Reel, which is done to 40-bar tunes.  It's usually done as 8-8-8-16 (ABABB or ABABC), though, which doesn't really fit what he's looking for (16-16-16-16-16).

 

I would imagine there are others on this list who would know of other recordings for Foggy River Reel or other 40-bar SCD reels.
